Hi Friends! It’s been a minute. And by a minute, I mean over a year! The blog didn’t stop, it just moved to Patreon. More on that later. First, I’ve got a Halloweek Offering: I set a bunch of my Spotify playlists public for the first time, with a haunting, witchy collection to kick us off.
For Halloween, you’ll want to check out:
Oldies For Goths: 50s-80s classic rock with haunted vibes, much of it a precursor to more overtly gothic genres.
Spooky Vintage: 1920s-1950s jazz with a dash of blues, heavy on Cab Calloway, Ella, Dinah Washington, & friends.
Hipster Witch Essentials: mostly 90s to current, plus Stevie Nicks. It’s a blend of genres tied together with solid folkloric/witch vibes & and crafty lyrics. Loosely inspired by the shop playlists I hear every time I visit Salem, MA.
I tried to steer clear of super-cheesy holiday songs and stick to tracks I’d listen to anytime, but extra in October.
So far, Hipster Witch Essentials is the crowd favorite:

Tarot Book & Deck Updates
So I’ve had a series of tarot decks in the works for the last eight or nine years.I completed the artwork for the first two decks years ago, but held back on publishing when I sat down to write their pamphlets and a whole-ass book started spilling out.
I’d never intended to dive into bookmanship when I set out to illustrate a deck! I’m much more at home with blog essays, lyrics, and poetry. Besides, I love reading books too much to love the thought of having to write them—ha! But a book showed up, and I surrendered to a process with a mind of its own.
I’m so happy to report that I’ve finally completed the manuscript for Fortune’s Inkwell, a meaty, poetic, esoteric, illustrated guidebook not only to the three decks, but to the symbolic glyphs, spreads, blog, and philosophy comprising all of Interrobang Tarot. I really hope you enjoy it!
I’m gonna self-publish to keep it arty, weird, and close to its underground roots. It’s in the formatting stages now, so stay tuned for updates as I have them! I’m hoping to release the book along with the Interrobang and Black Ink Tarot decks sometime within the next couple months.
The third deck is still in the works—I’ll share more on that another day.
Bloggers & Podcasters drop at line to [email protected] if you might like to review or interview about the projects.

Whatever Happened to The Blog?
Between writing a 400 page book, growing a new patreon, and grieving through the pandemic, I haven’t had the time or bandwidth to post on the public blogs. Besides, I needed to keep things low-key and quiet for a while to stave off pandemic burnout and workshop through some key transitions in the work.
So the blog never stopped, but I moved new posts to Patreon, and patron support is keeping the public archives up for all here. I need the income to keep this work sustainable, and the accountability is super helpful too. A bit of external pressure does wonders for my executive function. I managed to post more in the first two years on Patreon than the entire run here on Interrobang!
Patreon recently rolled out the option to follow for free and catch news blasts. I tend to post there first these days. And you can catch the all-tiers tarot spreads starting at just $1/month. This month, we’re doing Poe themed spreads in honor of the Fall of Usher. (I’m such a nerd for Flanagan’s miniseries.) Crickets+ get the scoop on the Spirit Vertigo Deck in progress.
This season, patrons are helping me cover the up-front indie publishing costs for book and deck proofing, copyright, and ISBNs. Many thanks to all subscribers! You guys are helping me bring these projects to life.
You can browse the Patreon catalog here to get a sense of what’s already there at each tier. And check out the spreads catalog here to look up tarot spreads for the occasion at hand, organized by topic and title.
Thanks so much for reading, and take care all! Happy Halloween!
