In related news, I've just completed a round of updates on my portfolio website. It got a much-needed makeover, with a fresh focus on illustration, since that's where all my time's going these days. You can check out a gallery of all completed images for the Spirit Vertigo deck. I've also added a new sketchbook page, that I'll be adding to every week or two. I love peeking into other artist's sketchbooks. Nothing pulls me into someone else's work like photos of their sketches and diaries, so I couldn't resist posting some of my own. I hope you like them! |
Here are the latest images for the Spirit Vertigo tarot deck: Judgement & The World. I've cropped out the borders for now, because I'm still struggling with font and formatting. The final cards will include a border and titles, and will not be watermarked. I will figure out what that all looks like before launching a funding campaign. I'll even come up with my own font if that's what it takes to get it looking right, dammit. I'm excited because that wraps up round one of the Major Arcana! I started this project in July, 2015, and in the past eight months, I've completed first iterations of all 22 Major Arcana cards, 14 of which are good enough to make it into the deck. That's not too shabby given that I'm working stream-of-consciousness, so I'm planning, sketching, scrapping, and revising as I go.

Thanks, Claire! That's funny, I have trouble connecting to Judgement, too. I was trying to play with the traditional imagery, and veer away from it at the same time with this one.

Totally agree with Claire, I have always felt a disconnect with traditional Judgement cards but this one is really lovely. It has a great sense of movement and inspiration / ascension to higher consciousness to it. The crowded graveyard left behind is an especially nice touch!

Thank you! It's such a treat to hear this is connecting for folks who don't typically click with the Judgement card!
