The Black Ink Tarot Suit of Matchsticks

Hey my loves! Just a quick art update today. The Black Ink Tarot is coming along. I've got finalized majors, sketches done for each of the pips, and the slightest clue what to do with the courts. Good things. Here's a sneak peek at the minors: the suit of matchsticks.

This spring will be pretty quiet on the Interrobang Tarot blog. I'm challenging myself to a much needed tech detox over the next two weeks, and I may end up traveling and offline again next month. I'm working from home for the time being, and it's done a number on my attention span. Looking forward to unplugging and getting into a better groove beyond the glowing screens. I'll still check my email everyday, so you can reach me through comments and the contact form. Other than that, no TV and no internet till the 20th. Hopefully I'll have lots of arting and writing to share when I come back online.

Have a wonderful couple weeks in the meantime. To everyone buried in the snow right now, stay cozy, safe, and warm! Cheers!

So cool!! Thanks for sharing these! I love the strong action and cavalier sense of danger in the 7. Good luck with your tech detox! Hope you get lots done / find some peace of mind.

I just stumbled upon this post and I love this deck-in-progress so much! I've never been super drawn to non-figurative decks but this one really lights my brain on fire. I noticed this post is from a few years ago; is this a deck you're still working on? I'd love to get my hands on it if/when it's published!

Thanks so much for your kind words! Yes this deck is still happening--the artwork is nearly complete, but the guidebook is taking its sweet time. I'd originally thought this project wanted a little pamphlet, but nope. It wants a full book. (I may release them separately if it takes too much longer, but I'd love to keep them together if I can.) The best ways to stay up to date on progress are to sign up for my tarot newsletter and to follow me on Instagram @interrobangtarot. In the meantime, I've got a sweet little minimalist tarot with a brief booklet going into proofing very soon! There's a preview up on Instagram now, and a blog post coming soon.
